So I went a bit psycho and tried to diagram how the book came to be lol

It is part of Appendix I, which is the narrative version of this diagram. This appendix is a case study using the writing journey as an example of the application of the principles of the book to a work of craft (vs coordination). After feeling conflicted after the book's initial release, I decided to rethink the marketing approach from the ground up. "Slow Marketing" was a good slogan I found. Here's one key principle I'm following: the marketing should flow out of the DNA of the book.

Here are some decisions I made:

1. Give away free chapters - creating that retrospective showed how much help I got from people to make this book a reality. The prototype of the book also showed that this is effective. Out of the 408 who downloaded the free chapters, 48 bought the paid version. I also feel more comfortable with the idea that people know exactly what they are paying for. 2. New subtitle - "Project Management for Entrepreneurship and Creative Work." Writing the appendix reconnected me to my 17-year-old self. The previous subtitle, "... for Entrepreneurs and Creators" spoke to identity. The teenage aspiring writer in me is more interested in doing the work rather than the title. I'm also guessing that the term "creator" will grow stale in a few months or years, similar to hacker/hustler are so 2010s. This has made me question whether to remove the A.I. content. On one hand, I see that it will be a key part of project planning. On the other hand, at some point, it will be like explaining how to use a word editor in a book about writing. Maybe I'll just wait and see.
3. Focus on guest blogging - this looks like the 80/20 for long-term traffic to Gumroad/Kindle. It is also more writing reps. There are numbers to support this from the sales of v1 (see RoamBrain traffic in Appendix I). Here are some standard book marketing work I plan not to do: podcasts book tour, YouTube content and twitter content (this is the remainder of the 80/20). I tested out affiliate sales a bit, and it doesn't seem to be working (it worked for the previous one, though). The bigger context is this: I 'll be working on my next book, and time spent on marketing is time not spent writing.
